Ada apa dengan kelab UMNO NY-NJ? [Part 2]

October 26th, 2006 · 22 Comments

We all know names mean nothing. Ditch that. Let us now examine the substance:

1. If it’s registered under UMNO, then surely this NJ-NY UMNO Club is aligned to the political interests of the political party UMNO.

2. If that is not the intention of this club’s president, then one wonders why it has to be registered under UMNO. Why can’t it just be an independent organization?

3. Surely the answer to that is somewhat tied with an interest to attain financial support and expert consultion of senior UMNO leaders in addition to sharing the nationalistic goals of UMNO.

4. If its truly representing the interests of Muslims, we’ll have to wait and see whether the club really keeps its promise. I pray to Allah that this club can help represent true Muslim interests and denounce all forms of unIslamic practises, especially the practises of its senior members.

5. If it sincerely represents the interests of Muslims, it must tolerate and collaborate with other muslim groups and parties who share the same vision. If not, then it shows the club is merely using Islam for its own interests.

6. I have no qualms if the holy objectives of this club materialize. I would fully support anything the club does that is beneficial. Please don’t regard my comments as defamatory.
But why has the president and his cohorts become so defensive all of a sudden? If they truly envision an intellectual society, surely they have to tolerate criticism and engage in dialogue?

Let this be a positive source of pressure to check the conduct of this one Kelab UMNO NJ-NY.

    Assalamualaikum w.b.t. saudara kaki bangku,

I’m not a politician, I’m not so religious either, I’m just a humble servant of Almighty but your comments captivated my eyes n thoughts from the first to this second part. However, just so you know, I’m from the club UMNO NY-NJ, and for your information, I’m not the president but still I’m one of the e-board responsible in this organization which was newly endorsed n active.

I found what you were saying was neither wrong nor should I say right. It was the way you ask sounded like you were attacking this newly club and thus has brought to misconception if I were to say it. However, indeed, this 2nd part somehow made the 1st part a little bit clear of how you put the readers in a big question mark as if you were so against this club.

So, I’m saying that even though this club was branched under UMNO and from what I read from you, I know that politic sometimes appeared not to be a good things to involve in as there are many corruptions inside but was made invisible, but still do you think that if one of the politician is corrupted and so, the others will as well? Just think about it. If that was to happen then our country would have collapsed a long long time ago. Just a reminder from the holy prophet S.A.W., he said,” today must be greater than yesterday n tomorrow must be even greater than today”. Thus, what we can expect is everything must be done continuously for a better tomorrow n so as this club n also the same goes for UMNO itself.

We are as we knew, the generation of today’s community. If the current community wasn’t great enough why don’t we be far greater than them by taking the past as a lesson? But so you know, we are for how superior we can be, we are just the servant of Almighty n can never run away from making mistake.

Through all that, I say it personally that our main objectives were to strengthen the bond between Malays in NY-NJ regions as that is the main objective of the real party itself because I realized that I’m a Malay and what is wrong with that? And in the same time I’m a Muslim born and will ever be, insyaAllah. By the way, of course by joining this club, you’ll get some knowledge about politics and etc but just remember that even you like it or not you are a politician of yourself n not to mention that everyone is a leader of oneself. It’s just basic, doesn’t matter what organization you are in or what kind of life you are in.

Thus, as a new club in this NY-NJ region it’s true that a lot of obstacle must be faced and so we will. Personally, I respect your opinions n criticizes about this club. I know there are a lot of organization out there instead of UMNO but enter the one that you are most suitable in n nobody restricted that u have to enter just one club. I enter of what I believe is right n I respect everyone’s opinion. So help us to make this club’s objective came true. A club is just a club but the one who abide n make it as it should be is the one inside. So don’t judge a club and judge the people inside if the club were to go wrong from the way it should.

In conclusion, again I wanted to thank you for asking and stick with what you believe is right. I have no regret of writing this whole long comment. I don’t care if I were to be insulted or to be criticized. I did what I believe are right n yet different people have different view. Thus, in the end, all the great things from my comment came from Allah S.W.T. and the bad things about it came from my mistake alone as a human being.

    Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri
    Maaf Zahir dan Batin.

    ~salam dari hamba Allah~

It could not be truly more said that names mean nothing. So why suggest the different names for this club in the first place?

Only now can I see some degree of prefessionalism on the part of the writer. For that reason, I applaud him.

In response to his first, second, and third question, I will start by saying that we as future generations of Malaysia must acquire the capacity to be objective in the assessment of our undertakings. It is men’s overwhelming propensity to be subjective that has caused tyranny in the world. What folly approach to be as such. Therefore, it is true to a certain degree that this club cannot escape but to be alligned with UMNO’S ambitions, however, not all of UMNO’s propose unworthy of our attention. While I do not deny and do not condone the atrocities propagated by some members of UMNO, if not many, I also cannot deny some of the good cause UMNO has put into great effect. It is the club’s intention to analyze the bad and to embrace the good of UMNO

To answer your fourth, fifth, and sixth question, I will continue to say that Islam is paramount in the club’s missions and objectives. What may seem rhetorical to readers, is understandable, therefore I pray to Allah for His Ultimate Guidance and also for the reminders of fellow muslims. Consultation of fellow muslims will be the benchmark of the club’s activities.

To end, I am not being defensive. I fully invite dialogues and critiques from others, but I will never respond to such unrefined blast clearly seen in the writer’s first blog. I do applaud on the contrary, the writer’s critique and attempt to dialogue.

    Kaki Bangku,
To clear up some misunderstanding, the exco members (committee) of NY-NJ UMNO Club have no reasons at all to be blankly mad with your excerpts. I personally appreciate all your writings because to me you are actually helping us in promoting this newly-established club. However, I fervently hope that in your future comments (if any), you will not raise sensitive issues that can potentially create inextricable ‘war’ in this blog. Yes, we promote and cultivate intellectuality, but we ought to do it in the right manner. Lastly, I warmly invite you to join our club so that you are able to engage in proper dialogues with us.

  • TAK PERLU UMNO kot // Oct 26, 2006 at 9:26 pm

Bukan politik, tak sentuh politik, tp tak bermaksud tak sentuh politik? Nak sentuh jugaklah bila berpeluang kan?

Kalau betul bukan politik, get rid of ‘UMNO’ dari nama kelab tuh.Kalau nak perjuangkan Islam sekalipun, tak perlukan nama ‘UMNO’ tuh, ISLAM sendiri dah cukup.

It is not the matter of judging a book by its cover, it is all about salah gunakan nama ISLAM as the objective.. fikir2kan balik .. ready dah ke nak jawab kat akhirat kelak?

-peringatan utk diri sendiri dan semua-

Assalamualaikum w.b.t. kpd saudara/saudari tak perlu UMNO,

Maksud saudara Nabil tuh kelab UMNO NY-NJ ni memang xder kene mengena ngan politik dan kitorang dalam kelab ni pon bukannya bermain politik tp isunya kitorang fikir adalah lebih baik juga kalo kami perkenalkan sedikit pengetahuan tentang politik sebagai salah satu aktiviti kelab ni supaya pelajar2 di kawasan NY-NJ ni tau pasal politik tanahair.

Saya sendri pon xpernah berfikir pasal politik apatah lagi menjejakkan kaki di dalam politik. Walaubagaimanapon, xsalahkan kalo saya ingin tau pasal politik?

  • bukan islam hadhari // Oct 27, 2006 at 2:36 am

    kpd hamba Allah:

Susulkan dgn tindakan produktif. Insha-Allah segala yg diusahakan akan Allah permudahkan.

    Salam.

Kalu tak sebab father Nabil Nih nih orang kuat power di Mesia Nabil memang tak boleh naik, ahli AJK dia sendiri kacau bilau. Apa taknya, Nagib Ketua Penerangan, tak ke conflict of interest?

  • kaki masam // Feb 11, 2007 at 11:19 am

Saya melihat topik ini, agak menarik, walaupun saya bukan student US,tapi maner tahu one day dapat sambung kat Princeton, ader peluang join kelab ni..hehehe.
    To HIDUP UMNO NYNJ

So, I’m saying that even though this club was branched under UMNO and from what I read from you, I know that politic sometimes appeared not to be a good things to involve in as there are many corruptions inside but was made invisible, but still do you think that if one of the politician is corrupted and so, the others will as well?

    apapun cuma satu saya harapkan..
    Salam

Muslim…..Muslim….typical malay…..typical malay…….patula banyak negara Islam macam tu…………( so macam mane nak tahu kite buat sesuatu tu betul2 islamic?????),,,,,,,,,,,adakah ia bermaksud kite suffer banyak2 takde bantuan kewangan,,,, sembahyang banyak2,,,,,, rigid ttg semua bende…….check perjuangan orang lain islamic ke tak,,,,,,,

    Anyway…. :)

    Salam. SIS

  • kaki bangku // Feb 19, 2007 at 5:00 am

    Good point, d49.

I don’t understand what Ili’s trying to say, though.

  • slenge // Apr 29, 2007 at 5:54 pm

“Kata yg berserabut, utk org serabut, buat org kelam kabut”

  • cidos // Apr 29, 2007 at 11:40 pm

aktif balik posting ni ye. Cik Ili kata mula mula kena ikut imam, lepas tu imam dah xde pulak, pastu nak merdekakan tanah air. Ni kisah 1957 ke 2007. Ni kesan akibat terlampau banyak baca karya karya klasik ke? hehe.

Tapi setuju la kena ikut hukum Allah dlm perselisihan. Kembali kpd al quran bila berselisih.

p/s; sy pun dah lama tak ke stevens tu..bangku lagi latest pergi sana drpd sy. huhu…
