..same old,same old..

the captain strikes..Its the end of the week again. In the middle of the week we were entertained by glorious European nights of high quality football, the UEFA Champions League and its little brother, the less coveted UEFA Cup.Liverpool did a good job against French side Bordeaux, beating them at fortress Anfield 3-0 emphatically.Luis Garcia as usual continued his knack of scoring in European matches and captain Steven Gerrard finally broke his duck when he scored his first goal of the season.

Other British contingents didnt quite fare well when Arsenal could only muster a meagre draw at the Emirates Stadium against a lucky CSKA Moscow.Total football from Arsenal indeed, but in the end it was just a draw, and CSKA Moscow stole it from them.Manchester United was beaten by a solitary Copenhagen’s Marcus Allback goal, scored in the second half. The Swedish international previously had a couple of torrid Englishunited they fall.. football with Aston Villa. His goal meant that United had to fight without mercy to go to the second round, meaning that the looming Manchester United-Celtic match could be a tough affair.Last years’ champions Barcelona were hold to a 2-2 draw with Chelsea thanks to a fantastic Frank Lampard goal and the fine form of Didier Drogba. This means that Barcelona need to fight for scrap against their next opponent,Germany’s equivalent to Arsenal; Werder Bremen.Bremen is well known for their fine flair and attacking play, what with former Santos wonderkidhappy nazi..Brazilian Diego now in their ranks, this would be a tight affair, not the forget the industrious Torsten Frings,Tim Borowski and Miroslav Klose.Should Barcelona lose, they will go down to the less illustrious UEFA Cup and continue the less glamorous European journey there, which should be fun to watch,heh..
Its been a hectic week for me with the snow and all.Winter is just around the corner and that just makes me think how fast time flies by.As usual, had lots of tests, colloqium and presentations.I got no class on Thursday as it was my uni’s 100th year of its founding celebration.I took the oppurtunity to do my groceries and how lucky I was,as we Malaysians and all other foreigners dinasihatkan not to go out during this weekend. This is because on Monday we’ll have a holiday in Russia, calledhailing the wrong guy.. National Unity Day.And somehow, those mindless Russian Skinheads and Nazi wannabe’s plans to show their stuff and beat some nonrussian people during these times.Russians saluting Nazis?I guess they never bothered to know that their grandfathers once fought these Nazis to death during the Soviet times. These people even celebrate Hitler’s birthday, and our class have to be cancelled every year during these times as they always come out to find some foreigners to beat.Usually they’re Africans. Its quite common here in Russia,so I just might let you guys know about it.This is Russia after all,no surprises to me now.

Ideology does not represent the attitude,vis-a-vis.

its alway the concept of unity that makes people unite. the glue factor that stick the members is not the attitude but the ideology and the value that caused them to share the identity.
